Sussex Catering

Recommendations

Over the years I have tried most of the people that offer Sussex Catering services and thought others may like my suggestions for finding a good Sussex catering provider. Finding good Sussex catering services has been a bit of a trial as some companies have not produced a good result and I have had a few unpleasant surprises. A great many companies offer services for Sussex Catering and just picking one from the internet is a lottery. So I have a few suggestions that should get you a good result when looking for Sussex catering services.

Sussex Catering things to look for:

A local company and not a national chain. Local Sussex catering companies have to provide an excellent service or they do not survive.

A family run Sussex catering company is also a good sign as for them it is more than just a job and it shows in the quality and service.

A Sussex Catering company should be using local ingredients. They know the source and why not eat tasty local produce.

Ideally it is local and organic and the perfect scenario is that they grow their own ingredients themselves.

A catering company should be doing all the cooking of everything themselves. Some seemed to buy in packs of frozen readymade stuff and just warmed it up - Avoid!

A catering company should have staff that are properly trained - do ask, you may be surprised!

A catering company should have been in business for at least 5 years and the longer the better.

Your ideal Sussex catering company should not be too large as otherwise your business is not that important to them and it will show in how they cater you.

You want to have the option that they will run the whole event and supply linen, crockery and servicing staff.

Let them suggest menus and ask to see pictures of what they have done before.

Ask for a customer reference to call and do call them to get their experience.

Venues. If you are not running the event from home or business then they should be able to give you an experienced view of which are the best and most suitable venues. Somewhere may look spectacular but perhaps it hides a few horrors and the only people with a wide experience of multiple venues will be catering companies.

Quote. You should get a written quote. If it is not clear and professional looking then you can expect what they deliver at your event to be the same.

Meet the people that will be at your event. The larger companies have sales staff that you will never see again! You want to ensure that the people who will run your event on the day are people that you like and trust and so its best to meet them. Again best to avoid the big catering companies and stick to ones that offer a personal service.

So having tried many of them with mixed results and learned from my mistakes, the above list should help you find the ideal Sussex catering provider. If you do not want to spend hours researching and trying to find one, then the one I have now settled on as being the best I have used and does all of the above. It is a Midhurst based family business that covers the local area. It is run by Alexandra and is called http://www.alexandraskitchen.co.uk/ Every time I have used them it has been absolutely perfect. You can call them on 01730 810080 and if you appreciated this web page then please do mention where you heard of them as I may get a discount next time I use them!

Best regards and I hope your event goes well,

Paul.
